We create good
brand names 

Naming a new company, a new brand or range can be complex and take time, so the brief is all. The business objectives and rationale are as important as the name scope.

Brand names need to be legally registered, sometimes work as an URL, have impact, must be clearly allied to a brand proposition – and most importantly have the right cultural connotations, imagery and meaning.

Brand or company names need to be original and understandable. They need to be easily ‘spoken’ in the markets in which the brand will be available.

We would usually offer a long list derived from a number of alternative routes, to be honed down to a final brand name. We work with legal specialists in naming for registration and trademarking advice.

The wider
picture

Understanding the larger brand architecture which may include sub-brands, range or portfolio development is also important. The relationship to visual identity is also to be noted: unifying factors of messaging, colour palette, typography, imagery, logo, and parent brand/ lockup all need to be considered.
