Esporão, one of the largest wine producers in Portugal, wanted a presence in export markets including the UK and Europe. Working with Hatch Mansfield - a leading UK specialist in premium wines and their UK wine importer - they realised that a new, distinctive range was required to stand out on shelf celebrating Portugal’s diverse wine regions. Despite Portugal being a well-known wine here, there is no single premium wine producer offering wines under the same brand, from three distinct places, under one clear identity.
The result was NÓS SOMOS - meaning “We are”; a name that expresses the deep connection between Portuguese winemaking, land and identity. The concept reflects the pride the winemakers take in their country, history and craft: a belief that the land shapes both the wine and the people who make it.
The new range consists of a Vinho Verde white, a red from the Douro region, and a red and white from the Alentejo.
Anew developed the strategic direction, brand name and label copy; and our creative design associate Studio Parr, created the visual identity, logo and label design. Each label visual is unique and reflects its local character: the greenery of Vinho Verde, the Douro’s river valley and terraced vines, and the undulating planes of the Alentejo.


The landscapes were painted by the Portuguese artist Abel Mota, whose style, inspired by local folk culture, stands out impressively on such a small canvas and most importantly on shelf.
The finished range brings together three distinct regional styles in a way that’s engaging and easy to navigate all under one parent brand: Esporão. With its strong sense of place, modernity, and quality winemaking, NÓS SOMOS will be perfect for young, adventurous UK wine drinkers who seek premium, accessible, wine.
